Chicago – Aug. 23, 2024 – Hecate Grid today announces that it has appointed Chris McKissack as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. Jay Crawford, Head of Asset Management in the Americas at InfraRed Capital Partners (“InfraRed”), who has been acting as interim CEO, will return to his role on the Hecate Grid Board of Managers.

Prior to Hecate Grid, Chris was Chief Executive at GlidePath Power Solutions, a renewables and battery storage company. An established energy storage veteran, Chris joined GlidePath in 2014 to develop some of the earliest battery storage projects in the country and spent a decade in rising leadership roles across the organization. Previously, Chris spent six years at Lincoln Clean Energy (now Ørsted Onshore) holding lead roles in development, engineering, transmission, procurement and construction of renewable projects.

Hecate Grid is a first-mover in the development, ownership, optimization, and operations of standalone battery energy storage systems (“BESS”) in the U.S., with 300 MW of operating and in-construction projects, and a 5 GW pipeline of strategically-sited BESS development projects across multiple U.S. markets. Chris’ appointment comes at an important juncture for Hecate Grid, as its diversified development pipeline is maturing into a significant portfolio of construction and operating projects.

Jay Crawford, Partner and Head of Asset Management in the Americas, InfraRed, said:

“The appointment of an individual of Chris’ calibre is testament to the strength of the Hecate Grid platform. Chris will bring his extensive experience to bear across the business, with a focus on the continued conversion of our development pipeline into construction and operational projects. We look forward to working with Chris to deliver our next phase of growth.”

Chris McKissack, CEO, Hecate Grid, said:

“Energy storage has already demonstrated its vital market and reliability role across the grid, and the need to deploy storage is going to continue increasing as the energy transition progresses and renewable generation capacity rises further, and aging infrastructure retires. Hecate Grid has significant growth opportunities and is well-positioned for success; I’m excited by the opportunity to work with its talented team to achieve its potential.”
