Job Description

Hecate Grid is seeking a Senior Manager of Pre-Construction and Procurement to join our growing battery storage IPP team in Chicago. The hire will oversee contracting, project construction management, commissioning and asset management for projects in Hecate Grid’s portfolio. This role will report to the VP of EPC. Responsibilities

  • Manage project engineering, procurement and construction across Hecate Grid’s portfolio of storage projects from contracting to commissioning; with responsibility for maintaining construction safety and delivering projects on budget and schedule

  • Ensure adherence to EPC contracts, including tracking deliverables, schedules, payments due, managing change orders, providing notices of disputes, and managing warranty claims

  • Staying up to date on the BESS supply chain; identifying, ordering, and tracking long-lead and major equipment

  • Provide input during the project development phase and coordinate with Development and Finance teams

  • Work collaboratively with counterparts in the Project Development and Market Operations verticals to optimize project design and profitability

  • Develop scopes of work for third party engineering and environmental consultants

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in power engineering design and/or project management; renewable or energy storage experience preferred

  • Experience negotiating and administering EPC contracts; experience in California, Texas, and New York preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in civil or mechanical engineering; MBA preferred

  • Must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Familiarity with the financial implications of EPC decisions

  • Experienced in independently interacting with team members, contractors, and constituents

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal communication, project marketing, and stakeholder relations

  • Ability to study, understand, synthesize and communicate information from multiple parties and disciplines to audiences with different backgrounds and experiences
